Inspiration Why The Customer Journey Shouldn’t Be Your First Priority

By Cameron Lewis

Retailers from all over the country gathered in Boston this August for the eTail East Conference to discover how they can evolve their eCommerce marketing strategies to fit the needs of modern consumers.

On day two of the conference, Tim McCue, Senior Director of eCommerce for Jockey, presented on the evolving nature of Jockey’s marketing communications alongside Bluecore’s CEO, Fayez Mohamood.

In this presentation Jockey aimed to convey how they addressed pain points existing across their digital marketing channels using email as the primary example. On the email front the top three pain points focused on moving away from batch and blast emails, addressing the inability of the marketing team to effectively scale programs as their needs grew more complex, and integrating untapped data to make communications more relevant.

As a global eCommerce player, Jockey understood the importance of reaching customers in new ways, but struggled with organizational inefficiencies that prevented these communications from being timely and relevant.

Take a look at Tim’s presentation “Why The Customer Journey Shouldn’t Be Your First Priority,” to see how Jockey optimized complex internal workflow issues in a way that automated and expanded their email marketing program.

In order to cut down the time for eCommerce emails to be triggered, designed, and delivered, Jockey began to work with Bluecore. Bluecore’s platform broke down the silos between Jockey’s marketing tools, enabling them to not only send their triggered emails quickly and with behavioral based content, but also to expand their program into new areas including merchandising triggers.

If Jockey’s experience resonates with you, please join them and other marketing gurus at the Bluecore 2015: Explore Summit. The Bluecore 2015: Explore Summit is an afternoon think-tank designed to help attendees discover new ways to expand and improve their digital marketing programs through the experiences of other eCommerce leaders.
